DOstamper Color Birthday

Welcome to another DOstamper Thursday Challenge!

Love these colors together.

At first when I seen the colors I thought that it would not be that great together....but wait until you see the card that I came up with!!  Drum roll please........

I have to thank Mercedes Weber for the inspiration for this card. Thanks Mercedes!!   I took her card and just made a few changes.  So...what do you think of the color combo now?  I think they look outstanding together.  They are so bright and bold.

I just love the Alphabet Press Embossing folder for the background.  It just gives the whole card a wow factor.  This embossing folder can go with so many different occasions in making cards or scrapbooking.  The Happy Birthday is from a set called " Age Awareness ".  If you haven't seen this set yet, it is a must see for your birthday projects.  And of course you always have to add the Bling!  For my bling I have added the Silver Glimmer paper which is cut out on the Big Shot using the Label Framelits Collection.  Also the star is punched out with the glimmer paper as well.  I used the little star from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.

This is also a sneak peek at one of the card for the Up and Coming Card Buffet on Saturday, November 1st.

HOW GREAT IS THAT!
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MAKE SURE THAT YOU LEAVE A COMMENT TO THIS POST.
Winner will be drawn randomly by my other half.

How cute is he!!!

This time of year is one of my favorite holidays to decorate and create for.  Next to Christmas.  So of course I had to do a Halloween Card for our challenge this week.

Did you happen to notice the Designer Series paper in the background???  Yes, it is NEW and it is a Christmas paper!  But I seen the design and just knew I had to use it as a Halloween card.  Stars - Bat...of course!!!  Stampin' Up! has made it so easy and versatile for us to use the DSPcardstock for more then just the occasion it came out for.  You can find this in the Holiday Catalog that just came out.

The bat is made out of the Build a Owl Punch.  How great and easy!!  For the wings of the bat I used the Petite Pennants Builder Punch and the Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.  The heart punch was used for making the scallops on the end of the wings.

The of course you have to finish off the card with some Chevron Ribbon and Candy Dots!!!

I almost forgot to show you what you could win in the Blog Candy!
Make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win!

Missing In Action!

I AM BACK FROM MISSING IN ACTION!!!

WOW!!!  I have had a very busy couple of months...  My daughter came home for a visit in June.  She has 3 of my grandchildren!  I was so excited to see them all.  As you can tell in the above picture there is 2 of them.  Briana the oldest and Teagan which is 4 yrs old.  I will get a picture of Carson up as well.  It was a great time!!  Allot of selfie's as you can tell.  LOL

Here I am with the 3 of them

They stayed with me for almost the whole month of June.  LOVED IT!!!  After they took off for Texas I started looking at all the pictures on my phone and you should see all the photo bombs and selfies that the 3 of them left me.  LOL

After they left it was time to get ready for a nice long weekend up north for the 4th of July.  Well...that didn't happen either for me.  My mom ended up in surgery for a hip replacement.  So I thought I better stay home and make sure everything was OK with her.  Went and visited with her on Sat. and did some running around to get her somethings she needed.  She is recovering very well!

After that came STAMPIN' UP! CONVENTION!!!!  More to come....

Thank you for stopping by and stop by for Convention memories.

Color Six Sided Sampler Challenge

Here we are again with challenge Thursday.  This week is flying by!!  It helps that it is only a 4 day work week!

I just love these colors together!  They are soft, but yet, they have such a pop to them.  It is even better when you use Smokey Slate.  LOL  I don't know what I was looking at last night, but I used Smokey Slate instead of Basic Gray.  Oh well it still came out nice! You can judge for yourself!

I cased this card out of the Stampin' Up! catalog.  It is on page 125.  Of course I changed the colors to match the color challenge, and didn't even get that right!

I have to admit that I really never used this stamp set until last night to make this card.  I have used the words but never the six sided images.  What I really like about this set is that it has a punch to go with the six sided images to punch out.  Stampin' Up! makes it so easy for us!!  What is even better...you can still get the Bundle and SAVE 15%.  So you would get the stamp set and the punch.  But hurry you only have 2 more days.

The little button is filled with the silver that is from the Silver Bakers Twine.  I just took off the silver in the twine and threaded it through the button and tied a bow.  I believe it gave the card a little extra accent.  For the six sided hexagon that has the hole in it, I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock and then punched out a 3/4" hole in any color cardstock and centered the punched circle in the middle of the stamped image and took the 3/4" punch and punched the hole.  The 3/4" hole I punched the 1st time was for a guide to get it centered in the middle of the stamped image.

Stampin' Up! products that I used on this card is as follows.
Cardstock & Ink
Smokey Slate Cardstock      131202      Ink   131179
Whisper White Cardstock    100730
Daffodil Delight Cardstock    119683     Ink   126944

It is that time of the week.  This weeks DOstampers challenge as you can see is a sketch challenge.  But this week for me was a little bit.....OK allot more exciting for me!  I used some NEW Stampin' Up! products that will be coming out in a few weeks.  If you haven't gotten your new Stampin' Up! Catalog yet....just let me know and I can send you one.

LOVE the new COLORS!

I couldn't wait to use my new stamp set that I received at the Catalog Premiere.  The stamp set is called  "Work of Art".  This one is right up my alley, it is following the the foot steps of Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I have really gotten into the grunge stamping lately.

In the card above I turned the sketch and did it on the side.  Below you will see it in the upright position.  When I do the sketch challenges it is always fun to take and turn the cards to make it more of a challenge.  Also it gets the creative juices flowing!!

Did you notice the DSP!?!  This is a NEW.....it is called "Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack".  You are going to LOVE IT!! I should just say that you are going to love the new Stampin' Up! Catalog that is out NOW, but you will be able to order from it in 16 Days!  Not that I am counting or anything.  LOL   Did you also notice the FABULOUS ribbon on the cards????  Yes that is the new In-Color Ribbon that has stitching and is made of satin.  It makes it so easy to work with.  And the colors of course are awesome!

Stampin' Up! products that I used are as follows:

Hello Honey Cardstock    NEW In-color
Blackberry Bliss Cardstock   NEW In-color

Hopping on with Fringe

I know I am a little late for Easter.....
but I wanted to share my Carrot Garden with you.
Love how this turned out!
This was another one of my projects for the DOstamper Stars guest designer for April.  I had a riot coming up with the different creative projects to post each weekend.  It really got the creative juices flowing!!

Don't you just love the little carrots!?!
For those little carrots a took a strip of Tangerine Tango cardstock and my Bone Folder and ran the cardstock across the Bone Folder like you do with curling ribbon.  This help break down the fibers in the cardstock so it was easier to roll up in a small cone.  I used the Multipurpose Glue to glue the cone together.  With the uneven ends that you get when you roll up the cone, I just tucked those into the inside of the cone.   I then took a Garden Green strip about a 1" to 1 1/2" and cut with the Fringe Scissors and then rolled it up and glue it.  I took and glued this to the inside of the cone.  How cute are those Carrots!?!

The fence part of the project, I found at a local dollar spot.  I painted the fence up some Acrylic paint.  Of course you have to have grass!!  I cut strips of Garden Green for all sides of the fence and cut with the Fringe Scissors.  The grass inside is also made with Garden Green cardstock.  For this I cut a strip of cardstock that was about 5" and then cut that with the Fringe Scissors all the way through.  So you end up with little strips of cardstock.  I took all of those pieces and just crumbled them up.  And of course you have to have the Chocolate Bunny to finish off the project.

Holder of the Cards

YOU CAN ALWAYS USE SOMETHING TO HOLD YOUR CARDS!
The month of April I was asked to be the DOstamper STARS guest designer.  Of course I said yes!!  This is another project that I did as the guest designer.

I love how the Card Holder turned out.

The Holder/box is from Target Dollar spot.  When I seen it just sitting there in its own little cubby, it was calling my name to do something fun with it.  So of course I just had to get it!!

To make this FABULOUS flower is really pretty easy.  I started with a 2 1/2 x 11" Pc of Melon Mambo cardstock.  I then folded that in half and glued the 2 ends together.  Remember less is more with the Multipurpose glue.  Then you will take your Fringe Scissors and cut at an angle along side the folded edge.  Do this for the whole strip of cardstock.

Once you have completed the fringing of the cardstock you are ready to roll it up to make our flower.  Some people use Sticky Strip for putting it together.  I used Multipurpose Glue again.  I put the glue on a little at a time as I was rolling up the flower.  I did make a flower out of DSP as well.  I just wanted to see the difference between the cardstock and DSP.  I preferred the cardstock one as you can see.

Here is the difference between the cardstock widths that you start out with.
The 1 1/2" flower is just so darn CUTE!!

Here is a close up of the flower.

When I attached the flower onto the holder I did use Hot Glue.  For the spectacular looking Melon Mambo Streamers.....I spritzed some Creped Filter Paper with Melon Mambo and the cut with my Fringe Scissors.  The leaves are cut out with the Big Shot and the leaves from the Secret Garden Framelits.

This Card box will make a great gift!!!

DOstamper Guest Designer

I have been chosen to be this months DOstamper Guest Designer.  Our upline Dawn Olchefske picks one demonstrator from our group each month to be the guest designer for the month.  During my month I have chosen to focus on the Fringe Scissors.  Sorry I am a little behind on posting my creations.  This is the 1st one I did for the month of April.  I will be posting the rest of my creations in the next week.

For this card I took a strip of Bermuda Bay and Fringe Cut it.  I layered it up with the best Bling a girl could ask for.....Silver Glimmer paper.  With the glimmer paper underneath the fringe, it did a peek a boo look.

As you can see I added a few more layers to the bottom of the card.  The Designer Series paper I used was one of my favorites.  Love the colors in it.  It is called "Kaleidoscope".  Hurry you can still get it before it is gone forever!!  The great star-burst design is from the Occasion Catalog that is currently out.  You can buy this as a bundle and get the framelits and the stamp set and SAVE 15%.  Can't ask for anything better than that!  I love the bundles that Stampin' Up! has come out with.  I am hoping for more with the new catalog coming out soon.

Sympathy with Color

WELCOME TO THE THURSDAY COLOR CHALLENGE

I don't know about you...but I love challenges!!  It gets my creative juices flowing.  I think my favorite type of challenge is the color challenges.  These challenges really make you think of how you are going to layer your cardstock and what type of stamps you will use.  What is your favorite challenge?

I did this card in one of my Card Buffets that I just put on a few weeks ago.  But I did it in Elegant Eggplant cardstock and Very Vanilla.  I should have posted a picture of it so you could see it.  I will get one on here so you can see the difference it makes with just color changes.

On the Crumb Cake cardstock I used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  I haven't used that folder in a long time.  I love this embossing folder because it as a WOW factor to the card.  It is also a elegant accent to the card.  Are you wondering how I did the flowers?  It is called the Thumping Technique.  It is where you take your lightest color and ink your stamp and then take 2 - 3 different shades of the Stampin' Up! markers and thump your markers on the stamp in various places.  You will then huff on your stamp and stamp to cardstock.  This is a wonderful and easy technique to use to give your project a wonderful and colorful pop!  I finished off the card with the wonderful Silver Bakers Twine.  I love this twine.  It comes in Gold or Silver.  And you can find it in the Occasions Catalog.  If you like and want it...you only have another month before it is gone.
