Botanical Flower Birthday

Here we are another week gone and a brand new DOstamper's Challenge!

This weeks challenge was a little tougher for me.  It took me awhile to come up with a card for this layout.  I did my card a little different.  I turned the layout when doing my card and spread out the layers.  Does that make sense?
I am thinking that the Botanical Builder Framelits are a new FAV of mine!

For this card I wanted a big stamp for the saying, which in this case is the "Happy Birthday".  This stamp is from a new set in the main catalog called "Watercolor Words".  This set has allot of great stamps in it.  Once I stamped it, I did take my paper snips and cut around the words.

For the background, I used the "Hardwood Background stamp".  To give it some dimension I inked it with Crumb Cake ink and then took a Sponge Dauber and wiped on Soft Suede ink to the stamp itself.

The Flowers on the card are all done with the Stamp set called "Botanical Blooms" and the framelit set that goes with this stamp set.  Did you know if you buy these in a Bundle you can SAVE 15%!  The bundle also includes the Botanical Garden Designer Series Paper.  What more could you ask for?!?!  On the smaller flower on the right, I did ink the stamp in Rose Red and then stamped off before stamping on my cardstock.

I hope that you liked this weeks card!  I already have orders to make more of them!

We have a fabulous turnout for you today.  Be sure check out more "Sketch" inspiration from my DOstamperSTARS Team (click on their links below):

Botanical Blooms in Winter

I figured what way better to get back into posting to my blog then by starting with a DOstamper Stars Thursday Challenge!!

There is so much going on with Stampin' Up! right now, just not sure where to begin telling you everything.  As I go through this post you will see so many new products that have come out in the Occasions Catalog and it is Sale-A-Bration time!  WOW SO EXCITING!

When I seen the colors to this challenge I instantly thought of the Botanical Blooms stamp set and matching Framelits.  Being that it has been so blistering cold here in MN, I thought it would be nice to have flowers and greenery.  Just needed to bring a smile to our faces here in MN.
I am falling in love with this framelit set and the NEW grunge stamp set.

Wondering where how I made the great edge on the card????  It is included in the new framelits that just came out in the Occasions Catalog called the Botanical Builder Framelits.  What is great about this framelit set it has a stamp set to match which is called Botanical Booms.  And when you buy these 2 items and the Designer Series Paper that goes with this, you can buy all 3 items in a bundle and SAVE 15%.  It is so great that Stampin' Up! offers us the bundles at a discount.

Did you happen to notice the spectacular flower on the card?  This is also in the Botanical Builder framelits.  And yes, the flower is all 1 piece!  For the 2 tone look of the flower I took an Aqua Painter and the Rose Red Ink and colored for a darker tone.  For the leaves I used the stamp set Botanical Blooms to put the lines in the leaf.  And then cut them using the framelits again.  If you look a little closer you can see a little grunge going on in the background, this is a new stamp set called Timeless Textures.   LOVE - LOVE this set!! I am so into the grunge look.  The base of the card is Soft Suede and the flower is Blushing Bride.  Did you happen to notice the Glimmer paper as well?!?  I know!  Color is Blushing Bride.

Birthday Sketch Challenge

In this DOstamper Stars sketch challenge I took a little different approach to it.  Instead of layering it up, I layered it down.  How I did this is by making a Shaker Card.  I am just loving all the different Shaker cards that I have seen lately.  They are so much fun!! And who wouldn't enjoy getting one!

I love how this card turned out!!

What I like most about this card is all the GREAT embellishments!!  And besides it is a shaker card!  When I first seen the Pom - Pom trim I wasn't that excited about it....but then it just grew on me and now I am loving it!  I also love the Sequin trim that came out about a year ago in Gold.  But with the Occasion Catalog that came out, they now have it in Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim.   These trims just give it that extra little touch!

Inside the shaker part of the card I took the Sequin Assortment with some punched out Silver Glitter Paper.  To punch out the little circles I used the 1/8 Hole punch.  I added these to give that sparkle!  The saying on the card from a new set that also came out in the Occasions Catalog.  This set is a great birthday set.  It is called "Balloon Bash", below is a picture of the set.

Flowering Color Challenge

This week is a color challenge for the DOstamper Stars.  LOVE - LOVE this color combo!!  You too can join in on the fun with all the starts.  We would love to see what your creation looks like as well.  You can email me at and I will post your creation right here for everyone to see.  How great is that!

Two of the colors are In Colors.  Do you know which ones they are?  If you said Blackberry Bliss (My all time favorite) and Hello Honey, you are right.  Rich Razzleberry is also a very rich looking color.

As you can see in the flowers they are 2 toned, I inked up the stamp in Rich Razzleberry and then rolled the outside edges in Blackberry Bliss.  This is called Rock -n- Roll technique.  I did take a sponge and soften the color contrast a little.  I really like how these to colors offset each other.  Wondering about the flower is a new set that Stampin' Up! came out with in the Occasion Catalog.  It is called "Petal Potpourri".  What is even better - is that you can buy the stamp set and the punch as a bundle and SAVE 15%!

The Hello Honey striped Designer Series Paper that is on the card comes from the "Moonlight DSP Stack".

Kinda Eclectic Challenge

Welcome to another week of the DOstampers challenge Thursday.  What I love about a Sketch challenges is that it gives you your starting base for making your project and it helps make your creativity easier.

With my card and the sketch I wanted to do something a little different.  I wanted the sketch to come out in the stamping instead of layers.  I believe I accomplished that!

The stamp set that I used is one of my favorites, it is called "Kinda Eclectic".

Kinda Eclectic Clear Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
I also added a little dimension in the background of the card with the stamp set called "Gorgeous Grunge".  This is my ultimate favorite set!

For the ribbon bow I used Early Espresso Seam binding ribbon.  I took and looped it back and forth and then took the Antique Brad and put that around it.  Added a little bling with the Gold Sequins as the ends to the bow and then wrapped a little Linen Thread behind the bow to give it that grunge look.

If you would like to join in on the DOstampers challenge you are more then Welcome too!  Below is a list of some of the other DOstampers participating in this weeks challenge.  Enjoy!
