Birthday Sketch Challenge

In this DOstamper Stars sketch challenge I took a little different approach to it.  Instead of layering it up, I layered it down.  How I did this is by making a Shaker Card.  I am just loving all the different Shaker cards that I have seen lately.  They are so much fun!! And who wouldn't enjoy getting one!

I love how this card turned out!!

What I like most about this card is all the GREAT embellishments!!  And besides it is a shaker card!  When I first seen the Pom - Pom trim I wasn't that excited about it....but then it just grew on me and now I am loving it!  I also love the Sequin trim that came out about a year ago in Gold.  But with the Occasion Catalog that came out, they now have it in Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim.   These trims just give it that extra little touch!

Inside the shaker part of the card I took the Sequin Assortment with some punched out Silver Glitter Paper.  To punch out the little circles I used the 1/8 Hole punch.  I added these to give that sparkle!  The saying on the card from a new set that also came out in the Occasions Catalog.  This set is a great birthday set.  It is called "Balloon Bash", below is a picture of the set.

Flowering Color Challenge

This week is a color challenge for the DOstamper Stars.  LOVE - LOVE this color combo!!  You too can join in on the fun with all the starts.  We would love to see what your creation looks like as well.  You can email me at jntcrlsn@yahoo.com and I will post your creation right here for everyone to see.  How great is that!

Two of the colors are In Colors.  Do you know which ones they are?  If you said Blackberry Bliss (My all time favorite) and Hello Honey, you are right.  Rich Razzleberry is also a very rich looking color.

As you can see in the flowers they are 2 toned, I inked up the stamp in Rich Razzleberry and then rolled the outside edges in Blackberry Bliss.  This is called Rock -n- Roll technique.  I did take a sponge and soften the color contrast a little.  I really like how these to colors offset each other.  Wondering about the flower itself...it is a new set that Stampin' Up! came out with in the Occasion Catalog.  It is called "Petal Potpourri".  What is even better - is that you can buy the stamp set and the punch as a bundle and SAVE 15%!

How great is this!!
I really like that Stampin' Up! has come out with bundles that saves us 15%!

The Hello Honey striped Designer Series Paper that is on the card comes from the "Moonlight DSP Stack".

For the saying "Sending Wishes Your Way" comes from a new set that has come out in the Occasions Catalog, it is called "Butterfly Basics".  Again Stampin' Up! has bundled this stamp set with Butterfly Thinlits so that you can SAVE 15%

Kinda Eclectic Challenge

Welcome to another week of the DOstampers challenge Thursday.  What I love about a Sketch challenges is that it gives you your starting base for making your project and it helps make your creativity easier.

With my card and the sketch I wanted to do something a little different.  I wanted the sketch to come out in the stamping instead of layers.  I believe I accomplished that!

The stamp set that I used is one of my favorites, it is called "Kinda Eclectic".

Kinda Eclectic Clear Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
I also added a little dimension in the background of the card with the stamp set called "Gorgeous Grunge".  This is my ultimate favorite set!

For the ribbon bow I used Early Espresso Seam binding ribbon.  I took and looped it back and forth and then took the Antique Brad and put that around it.  Added a little bling with the Gold Sequins as the ends to the bow and then wrapped a little Linen Thread behind the bow to give it that grunge look.

If you would like to join in on the DOstampers challenge you are more then Welcome too!  Below is a list of some of the other DOstampers participating in this weeks challenge.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Balloons

For this week I decided that I was going to use something from the Occasion Catalog and of course the Sale-A-Bration catalog

For the color combo it was easy!  I used the FREE  designer series paper that you can get with placing a $50.00 dollar order.  The DSP is called Best Year Ever!  This paper is so soft in color, but yet it has the POP factor going on.  You can also get the Ribbon and Button pack that goes with this DSP FREE.

Best Year Ever Accessory Pack

For the rest of the card I used a NEW set that is in the Occasion Catalog called "Celebrate Today".  There are so many thing's that I like about this set...it is just a great set for celebration of different events, it has framelits to cut out your stamped images on the Big Shot, it has all the decorative attachments for the balloons, I could keep going on and on but you have to see it for yourself.  Below it shows the stamp set with the framelits and look at all the balloon accessories you can add to make your project even better!!

A little bit of grunge to go with the butterfly.

I believe these NEW Butterfly thinlits will be used allot!!  They are so delicate looking.  On this card I also used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set.  Another one of my favorites!  This stamp set can be used in so many different card types or you can even use it in your scrapbooking.  I also used the Blendabilities Markers to color the Pearls and Rhinestones.   Did you know right now you can get a set of Blendabilities Markers for FREE?  It is Sale-A-Bration time and when you place an order for $50.00 you can choose an item out of the Sale-A-Bration catalog for FREE!!  Can't get any better than that!!

Color Challenge 1-29

Welcome to another week of the DOstamper Challenge Thursday.
This week we are doing a Color Combo challenge.

I am so sorry this is posting so late.  I had a family emergency last week.  All is OK!!

When I saw last weeks color challenge I just wasn't sure about the color combo.  But once you get the colors together surprisingly enough they are great together.  Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite In Colors right now.

Loving the Color Combo!

The background Designer Series Paper is from my favorite paper that just came out in the Occasions Catalog recently.  It is called "Painted Blooms DSP".  I think what I like most about the paper it has such vibrate and bold colors, but yet soft.  I think this DSP is going to be a favorite for allot of people!!
Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!
The flower image on the card is from a wonderful set called "Mother's Love".  This set also has great sayings for Mother's Day.  This set is a two step stamping set.   The saying on the card is from the set "Painted Petals".  This stamp set goes with the DSP that I used on this card.  Again, these 2 set are new in the Occasions Catalog.  Below is a closer look at the card.

WOW!!!  I almost forgot to tell you how I colored the wonderful silver ribbon!  I started with the 1/8" Silver Ribbon, took a Stampin' Up! sponge and the Rose Red Ink pad.  You place the ribbon onto the ink pad and with the sponge you press down on the ribbon.  Slide the ribbon across your ink pad. Repeat this step until you get the color you desire.  I did take a Kleenex and wiped off some of the ink on the Silver part of the ribbon.

Come on join in on the DOstamper's Thursday Challenges!!

Up - Up and Away!

There are so many NEW and exciting Stampin' Up! products out in the Occasions Catalog.
And of course I just have to have it all!!!  LOL
Below I will show you a few of the products that I have been playing around with.

This card was inspired from a card Mary Fish had made. Thank you Mary! I added a little extra and designed my balloon a little different.

Are you wondering how I cut the balloon out so perfect???  Guess what?? Stampin' Up! has come out with a Framelit that cuts them out!!!  How fabulous is that!!  The set is shown below.
Balloon Framelits Dies by Stampin' Up!
But that isn't even the best part!
There is also a stamp set that goes with the framelits!
Can you tell I am just a little excited!
Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
You can bundle the Framelits and the Stamp Set and Save 15%.  How great is that!

For the balloon on my card, I cut out 2 balloons.  One in Melon Mambo and the other in Basic Black.  I then took the Basic Black Balloon and punch out the stars with the Star punch for the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  The tail is stamped with another NEW set called "Hello Life".  As shown below.  Once I stamped the "So Sweet" I took a Project Life Journaling Pen and added the little swirl coming down.  The of course I had to add some bling with the Glimmering star.

This stamp set also goes with the NEW Hello Life Project Kit shown below.  I am going to be making this kit this weekend at a stamping play-date.  I will post some pictures next week.
