Color Therapy

I don't know how you are with matching colors, but there are times that I sit at my table to create a card and I just go blank when it comes to matching up colors.  This weeks challenge color combo really through me off.  I would have never put these 3 colors together!!  But once I did my card, they really look nice together.  SURPRISE!!

I would like to thank Paula Dobson who is on the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team for the layout of my card this week.  When I need a quick and easy card where do I go?  Pinterest of course!!  I loved the layout and the Stamp set that she had used on her card.  I did change up the card some to make it my own.

I used the stamp set Lovely Inside and Out and also used the framelits that go with this set.  You can buy it in a bundle and SAVE!

So when I cut out the word HUGS from the framelit, I just cut the word out of the circle.  I love that with these framelits, you can use words in the shape or cut the word out.  And then with the stamp set you have the words to complete your saying if you would like.  Great set!

For the 2 starburst images I stamped the Peekaboo Peach 1st and then I stamped the other one in Cajun Craze.  But I did stamp off before stamping on my cardstock.  Otherwise it was to dark.  Then I finished it off with a little bit of Baker's Twine.

I hope you liked this week's challenge card.  You too can play along with the DOstamper's.  Make sure that you check out the other challenge projects this week.

Celebrating with DSP

Image may contain: text

For this weeks challenge I wanted to keep it really simple and focus on the Designer Series Paper.  Because of the BIG SALE going on right now!!  It is that time of year to stock up on your favorite paper.  Stampin' Up! has selected some great looking Designer Series Paper for this Sale.  But hurry it only lasts this month.

Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP Sale

The great thing about DSP (Designer Series paper) is that it all matches and has different patterns on both sides of the paper.  There is really nothing to matching up the colors that go together it is all right there!

OK, so getting back the challenge for this week.  As I had said previous the card I made for this weeks challenge is very simple.

It maybe simple but you could take it to the next level by adding some embossing to the background with a embossing folder.  Or you could Heat Emboss the saying.  The DSP I used on my card is Coffee Break.  It has really nice earth tones to it.

Make sure that you wonder over and check out the other DOstamper's that are in the challenge this week.

Snowflake Wonder

Don't you just love the Product Suites that Stampin' Up! has come out with!!!

Image may contain: text

In the challenge this week I will be using the Everyday Label Punch from the Suite called Merry Little Christmas Suite.  I am in love with the colors in this suite.  I am also using a bundle called Snowflake Sentiments.  So without further delay here is my card for this week.

It was hard to capture the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Cardstock for the Snowflakes.  Did you know that when you are cutting or punching the glimmer cardstock that you should peel off the stiff backing on it 1st.  This will save on your dies and your punches.

The cute little saying is also coming from the bundle Snowflake Sentiments.

When I first saw the Silver or Gold Trimmed ribbon I thought that it would be really stiff to work with, but it is NOT!  It is really soft and flexible.  LOVE IT!!  Are you wondering how I did the back piece on the label??  I used the Lots of Labels Framelits.  I have to admit that I found this out at a Stampin event I went to a few weekends ago.  Wish I could take the credit, but I can't!

Make sure that you go and check out all the other DOstamper Stars that is participating in this weeks challenge.

Eclipse Technique

Today's post is a swap that I did for the Stampin' Up!, Creative Connections event that I had gone to this past weekend.  It was a great time had by all!! There were a ton of displays with creative projects, you had 3D projects and the speakers were awesome.  Below is the group of ladies that I had gone with, they are wonderful and I am so happy to call them my friends.  I would have never met any of them if it wasn't for Stampin' Up!

OK, I will show you my swap now.

A while ago I received the Large Letter Framelits from my wonderful and dear friend Dawn Olchefske, she is my upline.  Once in awhile she will have fun games for her downline to do, and that is how I WON!! the Large Letter Framelits.  So I thought this was a prefect time to use them.

This technique is called "Eclipse".  Way back when it was called Shadowing.  I am going to be using this Technique in my next Technique Class.    This is a very easy card to create.  You do all your stamping on your card stock, then cut out your letters.  Raise them up with the Foam Adhesive Strips or Dimensionals.  If you choose to emboss your cardstock, I did mine after I cut the letters and just kept them in place and ran them through the Big Shot.

I hope you liked my swap.  I will share more swaps later.
