Hello Swaps

Love to swap!

This card was one of my general swap cards for convention this year.  This year I made close to 300 card fronts for convention.  Think that is crazy...other people make more than that when they go.  But it is all worth it when you get there and you swap like crazy.  I will have to take a picture of all the swap cards that I received back.

The cardstock that I used on this card is Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.  I used a new stamp set that came in the the 2011/2012 catalog called "My Friend".  Great Set!  For the cluster of leaves and flowers I did a technique called Thumbing.  It is where you take your stamp and ink it up with your desired color and then take a Stampin' Up! marker (which should be darker) and thumb with it on the inked stamp.  (You are making spots of color all over you stamp)  When finish thumbing you will then huff on your stamp and stamp it on your cardstock.  How great is that!!  Easy, but yet such a great effect.  I also added a Basic Rhinestone to the little saying to give it that little extra Bling.

I hope you like it!  I will have more of my swaps throughout this week and I am sure into next.

You can get your own stamp set and create your own card using the Thumbing Technique.

Thank you for stopping!

My Convention Buddies

How Cute are they!?!?

These are my travel and convention buddies.  From Left to right, Myself, Laurie Zoellmer, a fellow demonstrator in our group, Dawn Olchefske, which is our upline and Jenny Maetzell, which is also a fellow demonstrator.  This is my second year going to convention.  But it was Jenny's 1st convention.  Do you remember your 1st convention.  I do, it is so exciting and you are just in awww.  Jenny had a great time and had the same feeling. Our upline Dawn O was ranked as the 25th top demonstrator and a friend of ours Kelly Acheson was ranked as #10.  WTG ladies.  But to top off the night...Dawn received a great honor with being picked by Shelli to be on the Advisory Board.  Congrats to you Dawn!  We had a BLAST!!  You couldn't ask for better convention buddies.  Thank you all for such a great trip.

This year was so amazing at convention.  With the GROW and Plus One theme Stampin' Up! has out done themselves.  We received Extra Stamp sets and a whole pack of the Holiday Mini's that will coming out.  Sneak peek of what is in the Holiday Mini.  The classes we awesome.  I will be sharing more on some extra classes that we took as well.  You are not going to want to miss these projects!

A Gift of Color

LOVE these colors together.  Right up my alley!!
If you would like to join in on all the fun of the DOstampers Stars Thursday challenges just let me know and I can get you all the information.  I get so inspired with the challenges that we have.  It is so much fun!  You can just shoot me an email.  jntcrlsn@yahoo.com

Just a little gift box.
I have seen some cards while blog hopping with the little gift boxes on them...so I thought why not just make a BIG one instead, that will hold a little something ... something.

For the box itself I used the Scallop Envelope Die with the Big Shot.  I trimmed off some of the sides of the envelope to make the box open at the top.  (You will need 2 Envelopes to make the box)

Big Shot
Scallop Envelope Die

The great Polka Dot background paper is from the pack of Patterns Designer Series Stack (Bright Collection).  Love using this DSP!  It makes it so easy to match up you designer paper with your projects.  It comes in all the color families.  For the bow on top of the box is made with the NEW punch that came out in the Summer Mini Catalog.  The punch is called "Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch".  You have to check these out if you haven't already!

Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch #122464

As for the "Big Wish" saying this came from the fabulous stamp set called "Word Play".  Of course this is another great set.
Word Play #120651 Clear mount

To finish off the saying I put a little Basic Rhinestone in the middle of the star dot of the "i" in Wish.  It just gave it the bling to make it pop!  I also used 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Daffodil Delight for the handle of the gift box.

I hope that you can join in on all the fun that we have in these challenges next week.

Happy Stamping!

Let's Start Clowning Around!

Isn't He Cute ?!?!

As I was blog surfing one day, I came across the little guy.  I just fell in LOVE with him!  I am sorry I don't remember who's blog I found this on, but if are the one please let me know so I can give you credit for him.

He is made with the Petal Cone Die and the Big Shot.  For his face I put pieces of Blushing Bride on the Petal Cone die, the rounded ends and cut those out so it would match perfectly.  For the eyes I used the small heart in the Heart to Heart Punch cut it in half.  Added the white with the White Uni-ball Gel Pen.  I then added different size circles to his hat with different colors of cardstock to liven him up.  And topped off the hat with a Big Button.
