Challenge of Critters

With all the Stampin' Up! sets that are out there, I am sure all of us have a critter in one of the sets we have! It wasn't hard to find a critter in my sets! It seems that I have a few sets that have critters in them!!!

Thanks to Dawn Olchefske for the inspiration for this card. I took a card that she had created and changed a few items up on the card. I am also using this card in my Card Buffet this weekend. I believe everyone will be making this one!

This card is made using the Petal Palette Bundle. As shown below. I am in love with this bundle! The bundle reminds me of Spring here in Minnesota.

For the background of the card I used the Petal Pair Impressions folder. This is 1 of 2 impression folders of the set. To color the little birdie I used the Watercolor Crayons and a Blender Pen. The leaves, bird, design strip and the saying were all cut out using the Petals & More Thinlits. These are shown above. Remember if you buy this as a bundle you SAVE $$$$.

DOstamper Challenge with a Heartfelt Touch

What would you take from this weeks picture challenge? I took the colors from the picture. There was something with the little splash of red in the picture that I liked.

I love how simple, but yet elegant this card turned out. The challenge picture I felt was exact same way so I wanted to carry it over to my project.

The stamp set that I used on the card is called "Heartfelt Blooms". It is a Sale-A-Bration set that you can earn it for FREE!! What I love about this stamp is that it has so much dimension as soon as it is stamped. And it is so soft and elegant. It makes such a pretty card. The saying came from this set as well.

Color Combo Challenge

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS COLOR COMBO?

I really was not sure about the Peekaboo Peach in this color combo? In my card I didn't use much of this color. I just couldn't get it to work they way I wanted it to.

As you can see I did some Peekaboo Peach in the card with the Tutti Frutti DSP.

Did you notice that I didn't do any stamping on this card? With the tools that Stampin' Up! gives us we don't need to stamp on every card! Every once in awhile I like to make a card with no stamping. How about you?

For the background I used the Polka Dot Embossing folder and then with the 1/2" Circle punch I punched out some Iridescent Glimmer paper from the Myths & Magic Glimmer paper stack. I then took these circles and glued them over the raise areas of the embossed circles. This way it gives them some dimension.

For this weeks challenge I have chosen the Amazing You stamp set for my creation. I like this set because of the different fonts it has and the star burst design.

Here is the card I came up with!

The background of the card is stamped in Rich Razzleberry with the Watercolor Wash background stamp. To achieve the watercolor look on the background I inked the stamp, stamped off and then spritzed with water and stamped. By stamping off the color isn't so dark. The flower is colored with the Watercolor Pencils (Rich Razzleberry) and then I used a Blender Pen to spread the color. I did stamp the flower twice and cut out the top part of the flower and layered it to give it some dimension.
