Picture Challenge

Welcome to another week of the DOstampers Challenge Thursday.

Sometimes the picture challenge is a CHALLENGE for me.  This one took me a while to figure out what I wanted to take out of it to create my card.  So I finally decided to take the colors and create my card.  I hope you like it!

Thinking Spring!!!

I have seen this type of card in my blog surfing and have always wanted to make one.  There are so many different punches that you could use to create such a card.  I chose the Elegant Butterfly Punch in hope that Spring will be here soon in MN.

To make this card it is pretty straight forward.  I cut my 3 different color strips to 1 x 4 1/2.  Then I punched out the Elegant Butterfly at the bottom of each strip.  I then put the Night of Navy strip and butterfly on 1st.  Followed by the Soft Sky strip and butterfly.  That way I could center the Crumb Cake strip and butterfly.  I then took my paper snips and trimmed off the overhang of the strips on the top.  This way they were all even.  I did use a dimensional on each of the butterfly's to give them a little pop!  And of course you have to add a little something to the butterfly's...I use the Pearl Basics.

The Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card is as follows:
Cardstock & Ink
Whisper White Cardstock   100730
Crumb Cake Cardstock       120953
Soft Sky Cardstock               108639
Night of Navy Cardstock     100867
Night of Navy Ink                 126970

Stamp Set
Six Sided Sampler    Clear Mount   130956
                                    Wood Mount   130953
You can also get this in a Bundle and save 15%!
In the bundle you would get the stamp set and the punch.

Elegant Butterfly Punch     127526

Hop on Into the Challenge

Here we are again with another DOstampers sketch challenge.   I love sketch challenges!  It is a great way to get your starting base for your cards.
The card that I made this week was cased from Mary Fish.  I also used Mary's card in a recent card Buffet that I had this past weekend.  I believe most of my customers that were there made this card.  How could you not!?!?
The Little Bunny is so stinking cute!

I really like the color combo in this card.

This little Bunny comes from a new stamp set called "Eggstra Spectacular".  You can find this set in the Occasions Catalog.  What I like about this card is the colors are soft but yet the card has a pop to it.  I normally like bold and bright colors!  The Designer Series Paper that I used is also from the Occasions Catalog.  This DSP is one of my favorite papers right now.  It is called "Watercolor Wonder Designer".  The DSP also has a stamp set that goes with it in the Occasions catalog, that is called "Happy Watercolor".

Lovely Color Challenge

Welcome to the DOstampers challenge Thursday.

This week for our challenge we have the color challenge.  When I seen the colors for this week, I wasn't in love with the combo at all!  But once I started the creative juices flowing it wasn't too bad.  LOL

You too can join in on the fun of the DOstampers Challenges with us.

Love how the card turned out.

When I started out with this card it was totally different.  Did you ever have an idea in mind and then you start to put it all together and it just isn't right?  Well that is what happened to this one.  So I changed a few things around...OK almost all of it around and came out with this!  I liked how it turned out so well, that I am including it in the Card Buffet that I am holding at my home this weekend.  I still have some room if you would like to join us!

The embossed background of this card is done with the FREE embossing folder called Decorative Dots,  you can only get during Sale-A-Bration that is going on now.  But you better hurry...because Sale-A-Bration ends on Monday, 3/31/14.   I also used a FREE stamp set called "You're Lovely" from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Ombre Fringe

I think this might be the easiest card I have ever made.

I did case this card and would like to thank my up-line, Dawn Olchefske.

I just love the look of this card.  How the colors just cascade from light to dark.  You could do this with Blues, Greens and Browns.  The color schemes are endless!  I just did this card for a Technique Club that I hold in my home once a month.  Everyone loved it!  And I believe by the time they all left they ordered the Fringe Scissors.  Which by the way, just came out in the Occasions Catalog.   If you haven't checked out the catalog yet...what are you waiting for!?!?

If you would like to join us for the Technique Club you can find out more information here.  Technique Club  If you don't live near me....no problem you can get the cards to go each month.

Gorgeous Grunge Thursday

I really can't believe it is already Thursday!  Where does the time go?!?!  It feels like yesterday I just did the DOstampers Thursday challenge.  I better slow down and smell the roses.  But can you really count being to busy if you are filling your time with stamping?  LOL

This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge, as you can see.   It looks a little confusing, I am sorry.  The square in the middle of the card is where you stamp your image and then the little splash and banner is an embellishment.  I hope this make sense.  I took the layout and it started out good, but I think I went a little off track.  But I really like how the card turned out!!

I really fell in LOVE with the Petite Petal Bundle.
Stampin' Up! has come out with bundles that can save you up to 15% on your favorite products.
How great is that!!!!

And who doesn't just love the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set?!?!

This stamp set is another one of my favorites right now.  But......you know how that can change once the new catalog comes out in July.   OHHHHH I can't wait for the NEW Products, how about you?  I know I should be happy with all the wonderful products Stampin' Up! has now but ..... come on.

When stamping with the Gorgeous Grunge stamps, I did stamp off the Soft Suede dots and the Coastal Cabana Dots.  The lines are stamped in Strawberry Slush and they are not stamped off.  Hope that this helps you create this card.

Here is list of supplies I used to make this card.

I have had this set for awhile now and I thought this would be a good time to use it in the challenge.  It is called "Oh Hello".  Not sure why I haven't used before now!!  I think that the color challenges for me are the hardest.  Not sure why....maybe because when the colors are chosen, it is harder for me to pick out the stamp set and layout I want to use!?!  How about you, is it harder if your colors are chosen for you?

Picture Challenge

OK - I am a day late.
For some reason I was thinking on Wednesday it was Tuesday and I had another day to get my card done for the challenge.  Not sure why I want another day of work!  LOL  Better late then never to join the challenge.
Here is another DOstampers challenge.  Like I said previously I had my days mixed up and posting this a little late.  You are more than Welcome to join us in our challenges every Thursday.

Love how bright and cheery the colors are.

If you have never done a picture challenge before let me explain what it is all about.  You take the picture and pull something that catches your eye.  From that you create your card or project.  For this challenge I took the colors and the Butterfly.

I did the Thumping Technique on the Butterfly.

This technique is so easy to do, but it makes such an effect on any project that you create.  How this is done, take your stamp and ink it up using the lightest color that you will be using.  Next take your desired colors of  Stampin' Up! markers that go with your project.  You will then take the brush end of the marker and tap/thumb it to your stamp in various places.  Repeat this with all the colors you have chosen.  When that is done you will huff on your stamp and stamp image onto your cardstock.  And that is how the Thumping Technique is done.  Easy isn't it!?!?  Of course I had to add a little sparkle to the butterfly with the rhinestones.

The Stampin' Up! products that I used to this card is as follows:

Cardstock & Ink
Bermuda Bay Crdstk    1131197     Ink   131171
Daffodil Delight               119683               126944
